inc5000_medallionInc 5000 2016 welcomes Corevist

In 2008, Corevist was just another tech startup operating out of the founders’ spare bedrooms. The company was originally funded, in part, by an NCIDEA grant and fueled by the belief that they could create a better, faster way to deliver SAP B2B eCommerce.

Eight years later, the company has six times the number of employees, a track record of double-digit annual growth, a client list of globally-recognized brands, and now a spot on Inc. Magazine’s Inc.5000 list for 2016. This announcement is especially noteworthy considering that every employee still works exclusively from home.

Corevist is headquartered in Raleigh and has employees scattered across the US and in parts of Europe. The company offers a cloud-based B2B eCommerce platform that interacts, in real time, with SAP ECC, R/3, All-in-One and S/4HANA and features native integration with Magento Commerce, the world’s leading eCommerce platform.

“From the beginning, we set out to create a different kind of company. When we started, we had no interest in establishing and maintaining all the things that go along with a physical office. And we still don’t have any interest in it,” said Sam Bayer, CEO of Corevist. “Instead, we live and breathe the Internet. Our product is web-based. Our meetings are web-based. And all of our infrastructure is in the cloud. We are truly a virtual company.”

Bayer continued, “Because we don’t have a brick-and-mortar office, we know we have to make special efforts build a cohesive company culture. That’s why we use tools like video conferencing to make face-to-face connections on a daily basis. We also leverage several web-based collaboration tools to keep our projects and digital assets organized. And, once a year, we fly somewhere fun—like Iceland or Croatia—for a 5-day retreat that’s a combination of strategic planning and team building.”

“I’m excited by the fact that we’re building the company that I personally have always wanted to work for,” Bayer continued. “We pay well, we have interesting clients, intellectually stimulating work and we’ve hit our profit sharing targets for the last 6 years. Plus, we treat our employees like adults and honor the fact that they have lives outside of work.”

“Our culture focuses on delivery, not punching a timeclock. That means if you have a dentist appointment, or you just want to enjoy a beautiful afternoon outside, go do it. As long as work gets done, we have no interest in micromanaging people.”

“For me personally, today’s announcement is a measurement of momentum and a signal that we’re on the right track,” Bayer said. “It tells us that our growth rate is amongst the top 5000 companies in the country. I’m extremely proud of the fact that we’ve achieved this not only by bringing a product to market, but by honoring our employees’ lifestyles. And we’ve done it all without an official office.”
